Wanted: High Impact action movie

His boss picks on him all the time, his bestfriend sleeps with his girlfriend, he drinks prescription pills to calm down the anxietyu attacks that he gets and he is broke. This is the life that Wesley Gibson (James McAvoy) lives but all of this changed when he met Fox (played by real life Fox Angelina Jolie).

Gibson’s father is an assassin and was killed in one of their hits. Fox goes to Gibson which was made exciting with a shoot out at a convenience store and car chase. Gibson meets Sloan (Morgan Freeman) who in turn explains to him that his father was killed and that he was summoned to take his place and kill his father’s tormentor. Sloan further explains that they are a group of assassins named “The Fraternity” whose motto is “Kill one and save a thousand!” Gibson was invited by Sloan to join the group.

Gibson returns home, wakes up and thought that all that happened was just a dream, unfortunately, in one night his life changed which caused him to flip and shout at his boss. He then joined the fraternity and was trained by Fox and their team so that he will be ready to avenge his father by killing his killer Cross (Thomas Kretschman).

When Gibson finally meets Cross, the story takes a sudden twist which makes the movie very interesting and the story quite different. I laud the producers for making this movie quite different from other action movies. One thing I like is that me as the one watching the movie is constantly thinking as the movie progresses and the story’s unpredictability makes it unique. Kudos to the Producers and Director of this movie for a good story and powerhouse cast.

The film’s Director Timur Bekmambetov has done it again. He gained international notice by turning low budget one of a kind movies in Russia into blockbusters. Producer Mark Platt came across Mark Millar and JG Jones’ comic book series “Wanted” and thought that it had good potential to become a movie, so with some tweaking of the story they merged with Bekmambetov who they thought can create a masterpiece with a good budgeted movie. This is a movie worth watching.

Manny Pacquiao knocks out Diaz in 9th round

It was like game 6 of the Celtics vs. Lakers series, everyone was anticipating a brawl that had both protagonists slug it out “mano a mano,” unfortunately the bout ended in a rout. Manny “the Pacman” Pacquiao was the aggressor the whole bout as he pummeled WBC Lightweight champion David Diaz for eight rounds until he finally knocked him out by the ninth round. You can liken Diaz to a punching bag as he was like a steady immovable force in the middle, that’s why Pacquiao had an easier time hitting him. Diaz in an interview after said that it was Pacquiao’s speed that got him. He said that he can see the punches, unfortunately "It was all his speed. I could see the punches perfectly but he was just too fast. In the meantime, kudos to David Diaz, with Pacquiao hitting him hard from the first quarter, he had the heart to stay in the game until his disastrous 9th round surrender. In the end, you could not even distinguish him from cartoon hero Shrek! It was said that Pacquiao was ahead on the judges scorecards in all 9 rounds!

Experts said that Pacquiao three 788 punches to Diaz's 463. Pacquiao's jab was a thing of beauty and his boxing skills has immensely improved since coming out as a 106 pound brawler 13 years ago. Pacquiao's 180 power shots connected hurt the champion the most and eventually these power shots took its toll on Diaz.

In winning this bout, the Pacman added the Lightweight title to his list of accomplishments that makes him the first Asian to win four World Titles in Four different weight classes namely the Flyweight (112 llbs), Junior Featherweight (122 lbs) and Junior lightweight crown (130 lbs).

Imagine that in his first bout as a lightweight he made mincemeat of the champion- the question now is who’s next. Congratulations Manny Pacquiao, THE FILIPINO NATION IS VERY PROUD OF THE YOU!

Good Luck Manny!

Good luck Manny Pacquiao, the whole Philippines is behind you!

TEAM USA: Meet the Scoring Guards

Will his MVP numbers come out?
Kobe or not Kobe
That is the question?

Kobe Bryant (Los Angeles Lakers)

ALL-NBA, All- Planet, ALL- UNIVERSE! Probably the Best Player in the Universe today. He averaged 28.3 points, 6.3 rebounds, 5.4 assists and 1.8 steals per game during the regular season. In the playoffs, it became 30.1 ppg. 5.7 rpg., 5.6 apg., and 1.7 spg. During his FIBA tour last year he averaged 15.3 ppg, third to Anthony and James. With him in the line up, scoring won’t be any a problem.

In his second season in the NBA Kobe was voted a starter for the 1998 All-Star Game, becoming at 19 the youngest All-Star in NBA history. He was chosen to the 1996-1997 NBA All-Rookie Second Team and also became the youngest player to ever start an NBA game on January 28 at Dallas, when he was 18 years, five months and five days. He also became the first Laker ever to win the Nestle Crunch Slam Dunk, posting a score of 49 out of a possible 50 in the final round . He teamed up with Shaquille O’Neal to bring three championships to LA from 2000-2002. He was voted to the ALL-NBA first team for the sixth consecutive season. This season he is the League MVP.

Will his jumper be his "Redd and Butter" Play?

Michael Redd (Milwaukee Bucks)

He averaged 14.4 points per game in last year’s FIBA tournament on 53% FG shooting and 45.3% from beyond the arc where he sank 29 threes in 10 games. He averaged 22.7 points this season and has a career average of 20.5 ppg. He is the second Buck in history to score 2000 points in one season, has a career high of 57 points in one game and once sank 9 three pointers against Houston. He once had a streak of 50 straight free throws without a miss. His scoring average improved during his first seven seasons in the NBA. A lot of NBA players say that his middle name is Shooter.

His scoring will always be there
Here's hoping that his D won't wane!

Dwyane Wade (Miami Heat)

Wade scored 32 points in the Bronze medal game against Argentina in 2006. He was injured last year so he wasn’t part of the team that won against Argentina. He was also the finals MVP of the 2006 NBA finals. Wade is a three-time All-Star and owns the HEAT single-season records for points scored, scoring average, field goals made and free throws made and attempted. He finished the 2007 postseason with 1,366 career points in postseason play, ranking as the third highest total by an NBA player in his first four postseason appearances. He was a member of the bronze-medal winning USA Basketball Senior National Team and appeared in all eight games during the Olympics and averaged 7.3 points (38.2 FG%, 69.6 FT%), 2.4 assists, a team-high 2.13 steals, 1.9 rebounds and 17.5 minutes.
